5 Party Games for Your Kid’s Next Birthday Party

Planning a birthday party can involve a lot of stress, especially when it comes to entertaining the kids on the day itself. We run our own parties in our sister store The Craft Cabin, so we understand how to keep the little ones having fun all day round. Here are some of our favourite games to help you throw a party to remember!

Pass the Parcel

Pass the Parcel is such an old classic, it’s sure to be a hit at any party. Simply wrap a prize in several layers of old newspaper or any other paper you have on hand, and have the kids pass it around in a circle while some music plays. When the music stops, they get to tear off a layer, and the loop begins again. Hiding a small treat in each layer can help ensure everyone gets a prize.

Mummy Game

You’ll need a few rolls of toilet paper for this mummy wrapping game! Teams must compete to wrap one of their members in toilet paper as fast as they can, whichever team finishes first is the winner.

Duck, Duck, Goose

Duck, duck, goose is another classic staple of childhood games, and there’s a reason why! This wonderful game is played by sitting the kids in a big circle while one of them is chosen as “it”. Then, whoever is “it” goes around tapping the heads of the kids in the circle, calling out “duck” until they assign one as “goose”. “Goose” needs to then chase them around the circle and catch them before their spot is taken, after which the cycle repeats.

Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger Hunt is a popular game that requires a little bit of setup beforehand. Hide some small things around the house or outside and give the kids a list to find them all. Whoever is the first to find them all is the winner. This game could also be played in teams if you’ve got a larger group.

Musical Statues

Musical Statues is such a simple game that’s great for getting the kids moving and grooving to their favourite tunes. The game itself involves playing music, prompting the kids to dance, with the goal being to stay as still as possible when the music stops.

And there you have it! Our recommendations for party games are sure to get the kids laughing and having fun during any birthday bash. Which ones were your favourites?
