About

The Craft Cabin is run by mammy and daughter team, Mary and Taragh Donohoe. Here we are in all our blonde hair glory! (FYI, Mary’s the mammy, Taragh’s the daughter!)

Our family have been in retail for over 30 years around Cavan, Leitrim and Fermanagh. Early this year we did some research in our gift shop Hidden Treasures Ballyconnell. We asked our lovely customers what additional ranges and items they would like in the shop. Fabric, wools and craft items were the most popular replies. So after a little bit of research we decided to set up a separate shop in Ballyconnell.. And hey presto, here we are!

Mum has been a dressmaker and crafter for many years. She made lots of my clothes as a kid as well as clothes for other people. Mum’s big passion now is patchwork but she also knits, crochets and does felt applique. At the moment, she is busy kitting out her first granddaughter with lots of lovely knitted goodies!

Taragh has her own communications company, Holler Communications and gets her creative juices flowing by creating words, images and video for her clients. She then gets her hands dirty with wall art, personalised gifts and mixed media projects. Some nursery room pieces for my new niece and Godchild are occupying my down time at the moment!

We hope you visit The Craft Cabin many times and become part of our community of crafters! We’d love to see you at some of our events and help you with your crafting and get some tips and hints from you – we can all learn so much from each other! Remember to sign up for our newsletter, subscribe to our blog and like us on Facebook.

If we can help with anything, just get in touch: hello@thecraftcabin.ie or 00 353 49 27424.
