Trousers too long? Zip broke on your favourite coat? Well, now you can make your own alternations and make the unwearable, wearable again!
In this half-day course, you will learn lots of basic skills to help you mend clothes and complete a broad range of sewing projects.
This class will cover the following:
- How to hem trousers
- How to insert a zip
- How to sew on buttons
- How to make a buttonhole
- How to apply patches and applique
In this course, you will be shown a number of different techniques and will get to practice them in class. This will be an excellent course for those wanting to dip their toe into making clothes or gifts and also those who would like to mend their own clothes.

Students will be using a sewing machine, so a working knowledge of how to use a machine is needed. Students on the course get a 10% discount on fabrics/supplies bought in The Craft Cabin on the day.
