Learn (or re-learn!) the basics of using a sewing machine and complete your very own tote bag to take home – all in one morning! You’re welcome to bring your own sewing machine too.
This class will cover the following:
- The basic features of the sewing machine
- How to thread the machine
- How to fill a bobbin
- How to control the speed
- Basic stitches
- How to troubleshoot problems
- How to work with material
Throughout the class, students will work on completing their own tote bag, using all the techniques they learn. Students will also add embellishments as they wish.
Costs & Inclusions:
This course takes four hours and costs €50 and it includes:
- All tuition
- All materials
- All patterns and instructions
- Use of our sewing machines
Students may bring their own sewing machine if it’s operational and in good condition. Please arrive 15 minutes early to class so the tutor can set your machine up and ascertain if it can be used in the class. Our machines can be used if your own isn’t suitable for the class.
If possible, students should bring their own basic sewing kit (scissors, tape measure, pins etc). Students on the course get a 10% discount on fabrics/supplies bought in The Craft Cabin on the day.
