Eco Sewing

Learn to sew some beautiful and environmentally conscious accessories. Using up-cycled materials and 100% cottons you will create three lovely projects that not only look beautiful but will reduce plastics in your household. You’ll pick up lots of sewing tips and hints along the way too!

THE COURSE:

In this course you will be making three projects.

Foldable Shopper

No more single use bags with this practical shopper that will easily fit into your handbag.

Paperless Towels 2 Ways

Baby wipes are one of the least environmentally friendly products, so replace them with reusable wipes that can easily be popped in the washing machine.

Bowl Cover

Reduce or eliminate the use of cling film or foil with these handing coverings for leftovers.

This class will cover the following

  • How to cut out and layout fabric
  • How to sew buttonholes
  • How to insert elastic

Students need to be proficient on a sewing machine. This is not a beginners class – check out of Learn to Machine Sew for the basics.

COSTS & INCLUSIONS:

This is a full day course, running from 10.30am – 4.30 and costing €70

  • All tuition
  • All patterns and instructions
  • All fabric, elastic and sewing accessories
  • Use of our sewing machines (Bring your own machine if you wish)
  • Lunch and refreshments

Students need to bring a towel from home for the paperless towels. If you have any fabric at home from old clothes that you would like to use, please bring it along too. We can’t guarantee that that it will work with our sewing patterns or that the weight will be correct, but will do our best.

If possible, students should bring their own basic sewing kit (scissors, tape measure, pins etc).
