Great Craft Challenge – Taragh’s Letters

MDF Letters and box frames .. a match made in heaven. The shape and structure is already there leaving you plenty of time to decorate and embellish and make something really special.

For this project I used:

  • Glue Gun
  • Box Frame
  • Glitter
  • Paint
  • MDF Letter
  • Paint
  • Fake Flowers
  • Embellishments

To start I wanted to keep the paper at the back as it was a nice thickness but it had an image in the centre. To cover this I stuck leaves down as a backing and to add some depth behind the letter.

I painted my letter in white and sprinkled gold glitter on top. You could use any combination here such as a marble effect or decoupage the letter instead.

I glued my letter to the backing first and then began adding the flowers. I cut them off the stems first and began with gluing the quite close to the letter but not obscuring it. I built the flowers up until the back was completely covered.

The flowers and letter were placed back into the frame and ta-da!
